Hello My Friends! It is hard to believe, but January is here - and with is it my first blog post of this new year I decided to start with organizing my space. As you can imagine, I spend most of my working time in the studio or at my desk...( when I have break from my traveling:)
So, it is crucial to have an inspiring, creative space and organized at the same time. Here I would like to share my tips on how to stay productive at the optimum level:
- Clean the Clutter Weekly
- Find Storage Solution
P.S. Updated studio pictures are coming soon :)
- Keep Cords organized and Out of Sight

Tip from Martha Stewart: Eliminate tangles under your work area by feeding all cords through a hole drilled in the desktop. Then plug the wires into a power-surge protector strip mounted on the underside of the desk. Keep cords in a coated wire basket (available at housewares stores) suspended under the desk with wire hooks. Tags identify where each machine wire comes from.
- Great ideas!

Do you have your favorite organizational tips?
I would like to share them if you have something on your blog just give me a link to add them here.
Lana! How sweet of you to include my work space!! Lovely surprise :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words too! I love handwritten notes as well!
As soon as the last remaining wall of my studio is finished (hopefully by Spring) I will
have a "real" moodboard there :)
Your painting is gorgeous...very chic and somehow reminds me of France!!
Have a wonderful week
~Duni
Duni, I'm enjoying surprises....and I'm happy to see your like it! Hopefully you will finish your studio and share your new pictures with us by spring. Best wishes to you!
DeleteWhat a nice surprise to find my card over here! I don't have any organising tips, but I can surely use some. I often see work spaces on Pinterest that I adore, but I can never get my own to look like those. Looking forward to seeing photo's taken from your studio.
ReplyDeleteI know ...I always see those very well organized Pin boards pictures....and I'm like you never can do it for myself. So, this time I decided to manifest first, and hopefully I will do it. Check on me later if I followed it through! lol
DeleteA grand goal for the New Year Lana, best of luck molding your work-space! Also I share your sentiments on a handwritten note, there's nothing in the world like it! Happy Twenty-Fourteen, may it be plentiful and blessed for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you my creative friend! Many more best wishes to you as well!!!
DeleteGood luck with all your goals! I love the idea for computer cords!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting, I'm glad to hear from you again! xo, L.
DeleteGreat goals. I love the hidden surge protector tip. I have to confess, my cousin is visiting this weekend, and I will need to clear piles of fabric from the guest bed and hide it somewhere until she leaves. At some point, I need to swap my teeny tiny sewing room for the larger guest bedroom space, to try to contain (and organize!!) more of my Etsy business into one area. It's overflowing into the whole house now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading and commenting! I had only my studio before, but slowly took over my husband office! Now I'm proud owner of both:) ...with this said - I have to keep up to clean more...lol
DeleteGreat goals! I do love to stay organized! I like the shoe holders that hang on the doors. I use them for storing my ribbons spools. The giant glass jars make pretty storage for beads, zippers, embroidery floss,, anything colorful. My favorite form of organization is the clear zipper bags inside a decorative box or basket. The box or basket looks pretty on the outside, but when you open it, you have a bunch of zipper bags full of (organized) supplies. The best part is that whatever you are looking for is super easy to find! I do this with my beads, snaps, closures, d-rings, etc.
ReplyDeleteYour use of clear zipper bags/tips are absolutely wonderful! I would implement them all in my office. Thanks you for time spending here to shared all of them!
DeleteWhat a fantastic New Year's resolution, Lana! I’ve already started clearing mine, and I must admit that I’ve discovered a bunch of “treasures” hiding under my desk and file cabinets. My jaw just dropped and I had to ask myself, “what the heck are these doing here?”

Thank you for your comment and visiting here Clayton!
DeleteI need to work on my studio, too! I'm going through a transition from jewelry making into interior design, so I actually have a lot of stuff to get rid of and streamline. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI like your new post this year with DIY...I think you right on Paige!
DeleteMany best wishes for your new interior design journey and happy customers!
i created my own inspiration board above my desk a few months ago and absolutely love it. and i definitely feel you with the decluttering resolution...it truly helps my stress level immensely.

I like your blog a lot....Thanks you for stopping in here! Many best wishes for your journey in new 2014!
DeleteI love how Duni's studio looks, so organised!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I like her studio and her blog as well! I hope Duni's organization is contagious! lol
DeleteFantastic organizational ideas! Love the cord storage one -- I'm going to figure a way to adapt it to my needs -- my desk was handmade by my Uncle many years ago and it will be passed down to one of my kids -- no holes in that one! The tags are a great idea! And cleaning the clutter weekly is another great idea I'm going to make myself do! My desktop gets so messy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! I would like to point out that my cords just was a color coordinated. But after a while you forgetting which one is for...so this idea with tags works better for me now!
DeleteI'm a big organizing freak, haha! I think the easiest thing to do is stay on top of things. If you set aside some time on a particular day each week, it should be easier to keep things organized. My cleaning/organizing day is usually Thursday (mostly because I'm going away for the weekend, or I'm having company, haha). Doing little bits at a time and keeping up with it certainly makes the task of picking up less daunting. I remember trying to clean my room once as a kid--you could no longer see the floor--and I thought it was the most horrible thing ever. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a wonderful to see you actually doing it. My lifestyle actually allowed me to pick any day of the week. For some strange reason it is Wednesday now:)
DeleteSo nice to see you stop here again! Thanks!
I've started 2014 by organising too!
ReplyDeleteSo far I've done my computer area. My art area is a much bigger task I'm not ready to tackle yet.

Great! My hopeful but I fear that I'm not going to stick to it! I'm trying my best though!
