Window Shopping in Paris

We have a hard week in traveling it seems, so come and lets do some window and street displays shopping today in Paris. Walk the boulevards with me and let me take you for some divine Parisien store windows to gaze upon, be inspired or just to make you relaxed.

Tea time and desert lovers.....

Look for the luscious colors in just about any patesserie. i've found snapping they pretty little faces is nearly as much fun as testing, but without the quilt :)

Here’s a few for fresh market lovers...

For the foodies…

The flowers shop in Paris are divine. Their window displays are pieces of art.  and I have a hard time walking by without stopping to gaze at the floral still life....

Antique lovers perhaps....

My camera and I have learned to make the most of those moments, looking anything photo-wothy from my fast randevoux in the trip to coffee shop.

Montmartre in Paris Home of Renoir, Dufy, Poulbot, Valadon, and many others

If you are looking for a special holiday location, you will find Montmartre in Paris a beautiful and historic place to visit and spend time. Montmartre is a small bohemian community of artists. The area is three hundred feet above the other areas and you can have a splendid view of the Eiffel Tower. You will see the artists at work, painting, selling and just talking to all the visitors. This is a vacationer’s delight! My favorite was "le Musee de Montmartre at les jardins Renoir". Here was Auguste Renoir's studio during the early years of Impressionism.

Recharging in Paris.

Would it be a surprise to say that the "stars aligned" in Paris this week?  After so much consideration and anticipation,  I came to Paris with my darling husband to enjoy the precious moments together and to find new artistic inspiration.   It was the perfect alignment of happiness and joy, past and present, and time to enjoy each other's company.   We walked and talked and admired the truly beautiful sights of this amazing city.   I took this photo at the base of the Eiffel Tower.  The purple blossom trees around added so much color and aroma to the park.

We often traveled around Paris on the Hop-On Hop-Off buses.

Has spring really sprung? At last the irises and tulips are blooming outside the Louvre.

Frame It

Have a bunch of mismatched frames? Give them a makeover so they look ilke they belong in the same tailored collection. We spray painted them a rich black that pops against the pink wall. It's a cool alternative to hanging a mirror or piece of art over a console.
Arranging 101
-Arrange frames on the floor before hanging them.
-Keep the spacing on the wall equal with no more than two inches between each frame.
-Use a measuring tape to make sure the distance is accurate.
-Make cardboard cutouts the same size as your frames and tape cardboard to the wall to see how they look before you commit to the real thing.

Note to Readers and Myself

Henry Miller's work commandments are helping me stay on task this month. And almost want to make me write my own work commandments in my little journal (which might read something like... "Work first and always. Friends, movie's, pinterest, blog comes afterwards"). Care to share any tips that help you stay on task?

Join Forces

You probably know that motto the Three Musketeers are famous for: " All for one and one for all" The same could be true of bloggers. So, I'm looking for group of people who would like to use my blog for marketing and of course for returning a favor :) hosting me, or promote my art on their blog. I love connecting with other artists online and feeling like I'm part of making the world a more beautiful place with my art. This is my first post of the site I like :
